Apple wireless keyboard: vista tutorial

Well as readers will know I have an apple wireless keyboard working in windows vista with no problems at all well now anyway. At first I did have some problems with it as the keyboard wasn’t detected when booting up so I didn’t actually have access to my pc unless I had a wired keyboard so after that trouble I thought I would post a tutorial I guess on how to get the keyboard working with vista (and maybe xp but not sure if it’s the same)
Before you follow this tutorial you will need the following items:
Bluetooth adapter (unless you already have Bluetooth)
Apple drivers for windows (these can be obtained by searching Google or I believe from a leopard disk for bootcamp)
Right if you have those then we can start the tutorial:
1: First you’ll want to install the keyboard drivers before actually connecting the keyboard, doing this will save a lot of time.
2: Now that you have installed the drivers then you can go ahead and look for the keyboard through your Bluetooth and connect to it.
3: Once you have connected the keyboard then you should (technically) be done but I came across an error that wouldn’t let me boot into vista.
4: (only follow this if you can’t boot into vista with the keyboard) Get a wired keyboard and get into your BIOS and then you want to look for the halt ons option and then you want to set it to all but not keyboard. This means that if it cannot detect a keyboard then it will not tell you and it will carry on booting into the os
5: once you get to the login screen or your desktop then turn the keyboard on, for me it takes quite a while for it to be detected so don’t go turning it on and off all the time as this will just waste time.
I hope this helped anybody who is having trouble with doing this and if yu need anymore help then e-mail me at: ss3luke@googlemail.com
