VMware Fusion

Since i got a macbook pro i though i should get some virtual machine software, the software i was looking at was either parallels or vmware fusion. Bootcamp wasn’t something i wanted to use as it didn’t look right for me so after watching quite a few youtube video reviews of the programs i was choosing from i decided to go with vmware fusion. I got to test this out last night as i installed windows xp on a 40GB hdd, installation took longer than i thought as i was told that when installing a virtual machine it’s pretty fast, one thing i did notice though is that vmware had a feature that lets you enter the OS serial number and details before you actually install the OS so when installing xp i wasn’t required to enter any information, choose any partitions or press enter on anything. As soon as i booted into that OS i had to restart it as vmware was adding drivers but it did restart pretty fast, when i got access to the desktop i seen the vmware sharing folder which this was brilliant, i have access to all my mac files without having to setup any folders myself this was brilliant for me. The speed of the OS was really good and the virtual machine only had 512MB of ram (i have given it 1gb now) and the screen of the macbook pro makes xp look even better, only issue i have is the right click i have enabled it for the mac but it’s just the way of doing it that’s a bit annoying, another nice thing about vmware is that i can put xp on another desktop space while i use osx on another space so i can easily switch between operating systems with no lag or anything like that. Well after everything I’ve done with it I’m really happy with this software and would definitely recommend it to anyone using a mac.
Seeya.
