Iphone sdk vs jailbreak

After reading some very detailed posts on websites i was thinking about what apple will offer with the iphone sdk, sure companies can now make their own applications, games and anything else for the iphone but this has been done already ever since the iphone was released basically. Apple have said that companies can charge whatever they want when they release their apps which will be sold through the itunes store but then again every third party application through the installer on jailbroken iphones are free and there are already thousands of them available.

Jailbreaking an iphone has become so easy now and tons of people have done it so they already have access to extra apps for the iphone so what use is the iphone sdk going to have? Sure people who haven’t jailbroken their iphone will love it but then surely at some point people are going to be annoyed by prices that are going to be done for the apps, there is a wide range of apps that people are using already from third parties with jailbroken iphones there are even applications on there that gives users the ability to create their own applications (application is called jiggy). So what is the use for the sdk? Is it just another reason for apple to convince people to not jailbreak? Is it another reason for apple to become more popular with itunes? I honestly don’t see much use in this apart from large companies designing games or applications for business users.
