Well about three days ago I got the “windows has updates” come up so I went ahead and installed them not knowing that this had (as far as I know) the beta of service pack 1 for vista, I installed the updates on Tuesday night but they took longer than usual to install which in a way was worrying then the very next day my pc was running a lot slower than it should be so I just turned it right off again. The Friday came along and as always I went straight to the pc and before I could log in I got the massage “configuring updates - step 1 or 3″ ok this was going ok then it went on to step 2 after a restart and then on to step 3, so far everything was normal but then the update really went bad. As it was saying “configuring updates - step 3 or 3″ it soon after said shutting down which seemed to be the last restart it would need to do (defiantly not!!!!) as my pc booted back up it went straight back to the configuring updates message then it restarted again then back to the configuring message, in other words i was stuck in a endless restart loop all thanks to (what’s supposed to be) the great vista sp1 update, looking great so far Microsoft…..I thought that the best way to get out of this was by using the vista install disk and booting from that but then again it was the perfect time for my DVD drive to not work… oh boy this was getting better and better but thankfully I had a spare DVD drive available and was able to boot into the disk and do a system restore, now that I’m finally back on my pc look what’s just popped up!!!! “Windows updates available” wow it all seems to be going great for Microsoft and vista
