Iphone unlocking….worth it?

I have a iphone and yes it is unlocked and it makes the iphone a whole lot better, unlocking the iphone gives you access to complete customization such as themes and editing icon images and much more. You can download third party applications such as apollo which lets you use messenger services to access windows live messenger, aim, yahoo and more. You also get to add game emulators such as the playstation, gameboy advance and the nes emulator so you can play old games and then there is always the added bonus of downloading basic iphone games such as isnake and ipong. When unlocking the iphone it can cause your phone to basically become a brick and never be able to use it again which this is a huge risk that you have to make sure you are fully ready and prepared for the worse if you are planning to unlock the iphone. Apple are aware of all the hacks that are out there for allowing you to jailbreak your iphone and are working on it, they have also worked on it in previous firmware updates but hackers have still been able to hack past it. The whole unlocking process can be a very easy job or it can become a nightmare half way through (as i know), so to answer the question if it is worth it then i would say yes it is worth it. I don’t know what i would do with my iphone if i didn’t have the use of these extra applications and i am always happy about not having to agree to the contract from o2 (thats the provider for the iphone in the UK). I have stuck using my old pay as you go sim card and am fully happy with it, i have had no issues with texts or calls and nothing has gone wrong with the actual phone since unlocking. Unlocking the phone also gives you ssh access so you can get into the root folder of your iphone through a ftp program like cuteftp so you can add more things to your phone such as game roms. If you are a person who likes to be on the official side of things then stick to not jailbreaking, the ultimate benefit of staying official is that you can update the firmware with no problems, anybody who has jailbroken their phone will know that you can’t just upgrade as it can cause your phone to be relocked and you will lose any chance of unlocking it. My opinion is yes it’s worth it but if you are a person who prefers the official thing they stay with a normal iphone.
