I’ve been having a time with computers lately. My PC died on my in Oct of last year, which was a blessing, since I had wanted to switch to my Mac fully and never had the time to fully switch. Now it’s my ibook that is having problems, which I think it’s the hard drive that is the problem. I’ve done all the test, Apple hardware test, Tech Tool ( comes with AppleCare) and Disk Utility  Test.  I know it will be a fortune to get fixed since my AppleCare went out last year, but my question to everyone is it worth fixing or just buying a new macbook? Could I get by with buying a cheap firewire extn. drive, will Mac OSX even allow  a FW drive to boot up?
