The much anticipated professional basketball season is underway. Here are my top 10 weekly rankings for the past week.
1.) San Antonio Spurs - (3-1) The defending NBA Champions started of the season on the right path winning three straight games, but lost tonight to a new and regenerated Houston Rockets Team. Check out the dunk by Manu Ginobili on Yao Ming.
2.) Houston Rockets - (4-1) The Houston Rockets definitly have something going. Under the new coach Rick Adelman, the Rockets have gotten of to a great start. Tracy McGrady is averaging 33 points per game, and Yao Ming is displaying dominating performinces.
3.) Boston Celtics - (2-0) The Boston Celtics organization is grieving with Head Coach Doc Rivers as his father passed away earlier this week. Celtics provided a great showing on it’s opening night at the TD BankNorth Garden by beating the struggling Washington Wizards. Later in the week, Celtics traveled to Canada where they defeated the Toronto Raports, without Doc River who was replaced by Tom Thibodeau. The “Big Three” have combined to score 136 points out of the 201 total points scored by the team.
4.) LA Clippers - (3-0) At least one team from Los Angeles is going about their business without any drama. The Clippers without Elton Brand have gotten off to a great start beating Golden State, Seattle and the dissapointing Chicago. Cuttino Mobley is leading the charge scoring 33 points against the Bulls Tuesday night.
5.) New Jersey Nets - (3-1) With Jason Kidd back and healthy, there is plenty of offense to go around as he is averiging 10 assists per game. Richard Jefferson, Vince Carter and Antoine Wright have been putting up great offensive numbers. The Nets are home for few games, but then they travel to Boston for a division match up.
So far…..
*Very dissapointed with the Chicago Bulls, off to a 0-4 start.
*Interested in Indiana Pacers as they are off to a 3-0 start.
Let me know what you think. Agree? Disagree? Let’s hear it.
