We also covered Joe’s landlord’s hostile take over of the house Joe is sharing with other renters. Has anyone else noticed that you can find Ben Davis clothing in the state of New York? I think we covered nearly every stereotype of our people (including the mistranslations of our slang)…

In this episode, we discuss music, flatulence, serial killers, and the RIAA. We use colorful language, so there is an EXPLICIT tag on it.

I’m usually an early adopter on most things social. I was one of the first million users of Twitter, an early user of FriendFeed, and a beta tester of Ping.FM. I have always had an enjoyment for the togetherness of the masses that the Web has brought us in the last few years.

When it comes to music based, social networks, I have used Slacker, iMeem, and Last.FM (which was probably my favorite). A number of the people I follow on Twitter were posting some of the things they were listening to, from Blip.FM, in their Twitter stream, and I had to check it out.

Now, this is my first day using it, but I love it. It isn’t really set up like a radio station (like Last.FM). It’s more user-centric. It is laid out like a Twitter stream, with the artist and song info in the stream, and buttons to re-blip, give “props’” and add the selected song to your own playlist. It’s essentially like re-tweeting, @-ing someone, and adding favorites. Have I said how much I really like this?

You can find more at Blip.FM and follow my stream here.

I received an invite for Google Voice a couple of weeks ago. I had a Grand Central account years ago, (but like many) I completely left it neglected, and did not upgrade after Google’s purchase of Grand Central.

I was a little wary of what may have been changed. You basically log in, and choose your new phone number to connect to it. I can’t remember is whether Grand Central had to have a physical phone tied to it, but with Google Voice, you do need a physical phone to tie to your account… (continued)

My lovely wife, Tara, has a Toshiba laptop that she has owned for the past year. Being about a year old, it’s a Vista Home Premium roll-out machine. She enjoys the benefits of the 64-bit Vista Home Premium install, the dual-core AMD Turion X2, ATI Radeon integrated graphics, etc.

She is also one of the few who enjoys using Vista. She likes the interface, the add-ons, and the ways that things are placed. It just seems to make sense. She isn’t one of the crazy, anti-progress hermits who insist on running Windows XP Professional 32-bit on a Quad-Core processor with 2 gigabytes of RAM (because that’s all it can utilize).

I digress.

Her only complaint has been her boot times (which are atrocious). I had been threatening her with Windows 7 since the Public Beta was released. She has been listening to different podcasts with me, and has been a little more receptive of my badgering… (continued)

A Phoenix light rail train was taken out of service Tuesday morning after someone left a surprise inside. At around 8 a.m., a train stopped for cleaning after a man smudged feces in the interior of the train. Police were told the man on the train was flicking and playing with feces, near 38 St. and Washington St. The light rail operator was notified and quickly took the train out of service.

“It is a biohazard, and we have protocol for how we handle a situation like this,” says Hillary Foose.

The man, who Phoenix P.D. say is homeless, was questioned at the station and released. Phoenix Police plan to review surveillance video on the train.

Anyone who has lived, for any amount of time, in the Phoenix Metro area saw this coming. If you have a major transportation venue in place, leave it to someone in South Phoenix to screw it up. Stay away from the president named streets, people. Nothing good can come of it. Plus, that’s entirely too close to 24th St and Van Buren. You’re only inviting those who have flown over the coo-coo’s nest.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
