There are so many social networking sites out there now, it is almost impossible to keep up with all of them. It is very hard to post updates to every social networking site when you have more then one. I could never keep up with posting updates to both Twitter and Pownce I thought it would be almost impossible to post everything at once. I was proven wrong when I found a great Adobe Air application called Twhirl that would allow me to post to both Pownce and Twitter. That made things a little bit easier on me, Since it handled double posting and reaching everyone not just on Twitter but on Pownce as well. I liked that I was able to post to both of those social network sites with one client. But I soon starting up for even more social networks such as FriendFeed, Plurk, Identi.ca and many more. I had no idea on how I would be able to all these social network at one time. At first I thought I would use the website, But then I realized that that is taking up more tabs in Firefox. I had no way of knowing how to post to all of these sites at one time. Until I found out Ping.fm

As of right now Ping.fm is in beta, But Ping.fm is still a great social network site that allows you to post to multiple sites at one time. As of right now Ping.fm is currently in the early stages of beta. I do see ping.fm as having great potential. What is nice about ping.fm is the ability to add custom triggers. So if you wanted to let say update just your twitter you could make a trigger as #tw and then update just one social networking site. But if you all like me, odds are you will make an #all trigger and have it send your updates to Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Pownce, and FriendFeed. That is one thing I really like about ping.fm Ping.fm makes it very easy for you. The folks over at ping.fm toke a lot of time to make it a great social network. You can embed ping.fm on your iGoogle page you can update from the site or even Instant message. They got it all covered.

However, I do see one problem with it, and that is that it has so many sites and everyone thinks they have to sign up to all the sites on the page just to get the word out and not be a part of the community at all. I have been on twitter for at least a few years now. I have gotten involved with the community and it has really helped. I have a lot more followers and people who are interested in what I have to say. Ping.fm has helped me post my blogs and other interesting website to other social networks instead of just twitter. I hope that Ping.fm will grow over time and add more and more social networking sites. If you would like to try out the beta and need a code try pingyoulater. That should work and you can hopefully try it out for yourself.

The end of my summer semester didn’t end to well at school, I was unable to attend summer school because my grades were not that stellar. So I have recently decided to go back to school and study computers and get my A+ certification. I am very excited about this and I am very happy that I will be a certified computer technician. I already know a lot about computers in general and I am very happy to help people fix there computers, or even install an operating system on someone’s computer. A lot of people are very scared to even touch a computer because they are afraid of something breaking. Well I am not and never have been afraid of touching a computer. I have had a passion for them ever since I was born. Computers have been in my blood my whole life. I just love being around them. They are a big part of my life.

I have heard that the A+ test is hard, but I have also hard that is very easy. I guess it really depends on how much you know about computers and how much you are willing to learn about them. It just boils down to how much studying you are willing to put into the test in order to pass it. Studying is something that doesn’t come easy for me at all. But If I put my mind too it I can probably pass the test, and then find a good solid job that will allow me to fix computers.

I am really excited to start school in the fall. I just know that I will have a lot of fun doing what I love doing. Computers are becoming a very big part of everyone’s lives and they are in high demand nowadays. Which is a very good thing for the computer techies out there. It gives us the chance to fix people’s computer for a living. I am very happy with my career path.

I have been using AVG anti-virus for some quite now. I really liked AVG 7.5 a lot. I swore by it, I told almost everyone I knew to use it as there anti-virus software. I thought it was great of a program to use. I still do like it, I also think that for a free anti-virus program it does a pretty good job. It was easy to use, easy to navigate. Everything about it was very to use. I have never liked Norton, I found it to be nothing but bloatware and it install a lot of extra stuff that you don’t need at all. Which is one reason I switched to AVG. I didn’t have any money when I bought my computer and I didn’t want to be bogged down by McAfee or Norton and there trial versions. I wanted something free and did the job. AVG did both for me and I didn’t have to pay for anything. I am poor college student with not a lot of money.

I recently however downloaded the newest version of AVG. AVG 8.0 and I am disappointed with it. Not by the fact that it still is perfect, but the fact you have to buy it now. I was a little upset at that, But hey I guess they want people to pay for it now so they can make money and to make there next release even better. AVG is a great product and I love it, always will, But I refuse to pay for it. I am someone who likes free software that works. You can only use AVG 8.0 for about thirty days or so before you have to buy it. Like most trial-ware. Other then that AVG 8.0 is a great product and continues to get better as the updates come out.

On the other hand, I like AVG for the new layout. It is very clean and a lot easier to navigate. There are a lot more features as well that I like. One new feature is IM protection which is something that is not in the older version of AVG. Another feature is a link scanner, which will scan websites for phishing and/or viruses. Very good move on AVGs part right there. They even have built in Root-kit and spyware all in one package. No extra downloading of AVG Root-kit and AVG Spyware. Those are great new features that I am proud to see Grisoft add to AVG. AVG is becoming more and more popular, since it is free and a very nice alternative to AVG 7.5. But I wont use 8.0 until it becomes free. I am very sorry Gisoft, you did me wrong right there. I will stick to 7.5 until for now.

Intel has announced a brand new chip set. The Intel Atom. It may be small, But it has a lot of power inside of it. Intel is trying to make a energy efficient processor. The Intel Atom has the smallest transitions inside of it. I think this is very smart. Nowadays energy is being used so much and even though you try to cut back, you are still using it. Making a energy efficient processor may tell people that they need to cut back on energy. The atom is being put into laptops only. It is suppose to help on battery life and help make you get more work done faster with a lower power processor. When I did have a laptop I always ran into the issue of running out of battery. I had to constantly keep it plugged in. But my laptop was fast and I got a lot of work done on it.

The less energy you have to use in a laptop is a very good thing. The battery inside a laptop has to do a lot of work and if you can make the processor work less it takes a lot of work off the laptop. Now slower processor speed does mean slower computer and less chance to get stuff done faster. I really think Intel made a smart choice. I hope it does well and I can’t wait to see the results.

There are so many choices out there now for gaming. You have the Personal Computer (PC), Mircosoft’s Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS. There are also so many games out there nowadays for every system. Shooter games, Racing games, Sports games, Online games. So many choices out there for the all the gamers out there.

Today when I saw that AMD was going to standardize gaming, By building system built for gaming. Meaning you don’t need to custom build your own gaming rig. I was real happy to see that. It is very nice to see AMD make the first step in trying to keep pc gaming around. Intel has yet to do this. Although I do like how Intel makes the quad core processors and AMD is trying to push the gaming market.

I myself am also not a hardcore gamer. I do own a few computer games, Such as Battlefield 2142 and BioShock. I personally like to game on the personal computer, It is a lot harder then gaming on a console. There is a lot more eye-hand coordination involved in personal computer gaming. As for consoles there still is eye-hand coordination, Also on a console there are few tactile buttons to push then on a personal computer. With a personal computer there are more buttons to press on the keyboard and of course using the mouse. Gaming on a computer is much more harder than it looks. It takes practices and skills and dedication. Gaming is not something you just pick up overnight. It is very hard.

There are so many Instant Messnger clients out there that a lot of people use. I happen to like Digsby Instant messenger. Digsby offers a wide variety of instant messenger’s and even Twitter and facebook and myspace. I am a huge fan of twitter So I use Digsby a lot to twitter, It is also very nice to have one client connect to yahoo, AOL Instant Messenger, MSN messenger and google talk. I really don’t know of many Instant Messenger clients that allow you to use Facebook and Myspace with Yahoo and AOL Instant Messenger. Digsby also has a really nice “listening to music” button. Which is cool, whn you are listening to music either on Windows media player, winamp digsby will sync itself to itunes or winamp. That is pretty cool i must admit. Digsby also allows you to customize its theme and skins. It is very customizable. IT is also very easy to use, easy to add people. Has great contact mangement, better then trillian and miranda.

I use to be a huge Miranda users, But when I found out about digsby I am really like it Digsby is very nice and the fact that has social networking built in is a huge plus for me. Miranda Is very nice but doesnt have a lot of features to it. Miranda Is not as customizable as digsby. I haven’t found a IM client as digsby. Now of course it does have some bugs. That can be easily fixed. Which is something digsby does everytime you sign on with it, It checks for updates every day, Which can get annoying at times, but at the same time It Is very nice to get updates, It helps keep the product up to date and fixes some bugs, The more bugs they find the better the client will get. I really like it and I hope it is around for a while.

Every day I see a new report of Mircosoft attacking yahoo, Or yahoo attacking Mircosoft. Ever since the whole Mircohoo ordeal It has never been the same. So I went to Micro Center and bought a brand new D-link DIR 625 router. Once I got it set up - which I should point out took me until four in the morning - I wanted to see If it was TRULY my router or if it was Comcast. So far I think it was my old Netgear router. Everything has been good and I haven’t had anything happen yet. Hopefully I don’t jinx anything. Netgear routers are nothing but trouble if you ask me.

Get a Free Audio Book

Are you tired of reading books? Me too. Over the years, I developed pulpuslaceratapohobia - and the only known cure for that is Audible. Finally, a way to digest words without actually having to read them. Professional voices are wonderful choices if you love literary works in audio format. Are you ready to read some audio books? Maybe you should just listen to them instead.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
