Big games coming up for Chicago and Illinois

This weekend starts the launch of both college football and the National Football league(NFL). I am going to be watching a lot of football this weekend. There are a few sports I can stand to watch on Television. Football happens to be one sport I can stand to watch. The other is baseball and sometimes basketball. Other then that I cant really stand to watch any other sports.

As most know I am from Chicago so I love Chicago sports. Now most of the teams have never really been that good. This year at least the two baseball teams are doing good. The Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox are both in first place and doing well. But I don’t want to say anything because I dont want to jinx a thing.

The Chicago Bears have gotten real lucky the last few years. The offense is beyond awful. This year we have a different quarterback starting which should hopefully help us go somewhere. But we have no right gaurd or right tackle, so the right side is real weak. Which means the quarterback will have to be on his toes and make really quick decesions. It also doesn’t help that we no wide receivers.

Now I know in 2006/07 the Chicago Bears went all the way to the superbowl. They got lucky. That is all I am going to say. You can blame Devin Hester an outstanding kick returner and punt returner for the chicago bears. He was basically our offense for us. Which is really quite sad. It also didn’t help when we had a quarterback who could even hold on to the ball and would fumble every snap.

The bears play the Indianaoplis Colts week 1 of the NFL on sunday night. It’s a pretty big game and will be hyped up a lot. I know for sure I will watch the game. Im not expecting the bears to win at all. Just hope it’s a close game and that both teams do real good.

Illinois has never really been a good college football team. They would always do horrible and lose more then 8 games. Which is really sad. Last year Illinois surprised a lot of people and made it to the Rose Bowl, only to lose to Soutern California. This weekend they are taking on Missouri. Missouri is one tough team and they usually always hand us a lose. So I am not expect a win at all. Illinois is ranked number 20 in the BCS and Missouri is ranked number 6 in the BCS. So missouri is the better team by a long shot. But you never know, there could be a upset.

The White sox are playing the Boston Red Sox this weekend, the first game starts in ten minutes. This is a huge series. It can either make or break our playoff chances. It should be a good series. Both teams have power and have pretty good pitching.

The Chicago Cubs are playing the Phillies this weekend and they already played one game and won 3-2. The cubs are looking good this year. I am worried that they might actually do something this year. If they go to the world series, Which I really don’t they will. Hell has offically frozen over if they do make it there.

So this weekend is a pretty big series for a lot of Chicago sports team. I am going to be keeping my eyes on all the teams this weekend.
