Why I don’t like the new version of AVG Anti-Virus

I have been using AVG anti-virus for some quite now. I really liked AVG 7.5 a lot. I swore by it, I told almost everyone I knew to use it as there anti-virus software. I thought it was great of a program to use. I still do like it, I also think that for a free anti-virus program it does a pretty good job. It was easy to use, easy to navigate. Everything about it was very to use. I have never liked Norton, I found it to be nothing but bloatware and it install a lot of extra stuff that you don’t need at all. Which is one reason I switched to AVG. I didn’t have any money when I bought my computer and I didn’t want to be bogged down by McAfee or Norton and there trial versions. I wanted something free and did the job. AVG did both for me and I didn’t have to pay for anything. I am poor college student with not a lot of money.
I recently however downloaded the newest version of AVG. AVG 8.0 and I am disappointed with it. Not by the fact that it still is perfect, but the fact you have to buy it now. I was a little upset at that, But hey I guess they want people to pay for it now so they can make money and to make there next release even better. AVG is a great product and I love it, always will, But I refuse to pay for it. I am someone who likes free software that works. You can only use AVG 8.0 for about thirty days or so before you have to buy it. Like most trial-ware. Other then that AVG 8.0 is a great product and continues to get better as the updates come out.
On the other hand, I like AVG for the new layout. It is very clean and a lot easier to navigate. There are a lot more features as well that I like. One new feature is IM protection which is something that is not in the older version of AVG. Another feature is a link scanner, which will scan websites for phishing and/or viruses. Very good move on AVGs part right there. They even have built in Root-kit and spyware all in one package. No extra downloading of AVG Root-kit and AVG Spyware. Those are great new features that I am proud to see Grisoft add to AVG. AVG is becoming more and more popular, since it is free and a very nice alternative to AVG 7.5. But I wont use 8.0 until it becomes free. I am very sorry Gisoft, you did me wrong right there. I will stick to 7.5 until for now.

Seems like you downloaded the trial version instead of the free version. It’s still free, you just have to find it.
