MacBook Air… Dare You To Buy It

The other day Apple announced a brand new MacBook to its already amazing lineup of MacBooks. I’ve always wanted a MacBook so badly. Macintosh computers are always a better choice for consumers. Macintosh computers come with everything you may want, office software, photo software, music software and much more. Although Macintosh’s are not cheap. That being said people always ask why Macintosh’s are so expensive? Well I usually tell them it’s because your getting what you pay for when you buy a Macintosh. They are really great value for what they give you. PCs are expensive to and a little bit more user friendly and more customizable.
Looking at the new MacBook that Apple released a few days ago was such a disgrace. The new MacBook is called the MacBook Air. What apple was trying to make a laptop that Is portable and thin as well. I do admit the thinness of the MacBook Air is pretty amazing. But some of the features in the MacBook Air don’t do anything. The one thing I wish apple would of included with the MacBook Air was a optical drive. A laptop that doesn’t have an optical drive is pretty stupid in my opinion. If I wanted to add music to my mac using itunes I would have to use either remote disk, which is a new feature. Or use an external hard drive that works with macs and pc. Apple had to take out an optical drive to make the MacBook Air thin. You can buy an external optical drive as well and use that. I also don’t like the fact that the MacBook Air does not have any wireless networking built into at all. If a college student wanted to use this kind of notebook at a college campus they would have to use it for note taking only.
The backlit keyboard is pretty cool and a nice feature to have. I tend to use my laptop at night in bed before I go to bed and having a backlit keyboard would be really helpful. Having a mouse that swipes is very cool. If your searching the web and you want move on to the next page you just do a two finger swipe left or right to go back and forth. Those two features are pretty cool to me. But for the price of 1800+ I will not buy it for the reason that it’s missing a lot of features. I don’t see the need in getting a thin notebook that skimps out on features that are important to people.
