Safer, Faster, Better Internet

A few days ago I was surfing the Internet when I ran across a site called OpenDNS. At first I didn’t know what it would do and how it would make my internet faster. So I decided to read up on OpenDNS on Wikipedia to learn more about it. I learned that it has many functions that make your internet browsing experience faster. (it does not matter what browser you use). OpenDNS allows you to choose which sites you want to block. You can block many sites like MySpace and even porn sites if you want to.
So I downloaded OpenDNS and I am pretty happy with what it has done for me. With OpenDNS you do not need to install anything at all. you just have to go to OpenDNS.com and then change the IP number that you’re given. Once you’ve configured the IP address you can then decide what sites you want to block (if you want to block any sites at all). You can also set up shortcuts in OpenDNS. For example if you want to make a shortcut to your email address you can make a shortcut called mail and hit enter and then it will go to your email address. You can block phishing sites and any virus sites or malware sites as well. You can do a lot more but I don’t want to get into all of the details.
I have been using OpenDNS for a few days now and I can see a big speed improvement in Firefox. OpenDNS has made a big improvement to my browsing experience. I hope that if you are using OpenDNS that it is working for you as well. Download it and you can then see how much control you can really have over your Internet and your router as well.
