Technology Christmas Presents For The Non Geeks

I have more time set a side more time to blog now and I hope you continue reading them. You guys have made a big impact on what I write. Please keep commenting and leaving your thoughts about my blogs. I can’t do it with you you guys. Thank you Very Much! I will try to blog more often over the holiday season since I will have more time off and more time to relax. I have has so much fun doing this, This a blast for me.

Since the holiday season is vastly approaching I figured I share with you some technology Christmas gifts, for non geeks like Me and even possibly You. There are some people out there that are not into technology and into computers, iPods, iPhone, Macintosh computers, cell phones as much as I am and other tech geeks out there. So for those who aren’t, surprise them this year with some tech goodies. It will just lighten them up this year. Be warned though you may have to tech them how to use these devices or gadgets.

If they like movies or a big on music I would get them something they enjoy. If they like movies, Get them something that has to do with portable movies. I recommend a Portable DVD player or even a iPod nano, or iPod classic. You can also give them the Creative Zen players, or even that product from Microsoft the Microsoft Zune. The iPod is the biggest selling portable mp3 player out there and it’s easy to use. Most of the speakers out there are for the iPod. The Zune is also very nice but is not very easy to pick and put down in one easy try, It takes a while to get used. Not only that but it comes in three amazing colors (okay so maybe Brown is a bad color). While the iPod comes in Black and White (At least the classic one does.)

The only downside I have with the Zune it’s lack of songs. You have to use the Zune Marketplace and it doesn’t have a lot of songs. Not just that but most songs you have to pay for. While with the iPod software you can copy the songs to the software and put them on your iPod. The iTunes store offers a great amount of movies and song artists, You can anything and everything you like in the iTunes store. You have to pay for most of it, But it’s all pretty cheap.

If they like talking on the phone get them an iPhone, Not only does it do calls but you can search the internet on the iPhone. (It’s spelled like that). iPhone is also great for someone who loves to text message there friends back and forth. The touch keyboard is a little slow at times and hard to use if you have big finger and big hands. There are also a lot of web application are begining designed for the iPhone. I don’t own one but I would like to try one out and see how easy it is to use. You can also give them a (samsung?) Blackjack. Also a Motorola Q is also a great phone. All of these phones have a lot in common, They are considered Smart phones. They are made to check your email on. They make your life a little easier.

Now what if they like sports you ask? Good Question, Most of these gadgets will be easy for any sports to use and take with them. Sports fan would love the iPod since it is small and portable and easy to slip into a pocket or even onto a sleeve. iPods would be great for track stars and cross countries stars as well. But the Zune is small and portable, but like I said before not easy to use. A portable DVD player may not be the best choice since it’s a little bit bigger and can break easily.

If you know someone who loves to game on the computer or on a console like a 360 or a PS2(3) or the Nintendo Wii. But you always hear them complain about how they can’t take there console with them every where they go. While I have a solution for them. There are two choices out there for portable gaming. You can either get a Nintendo DS Lite. or a Sony PSP Slim. These are great for people who want to play games and still take the consoles with them. The PSP has a lot of great games, from Shooter games from Sports games. I own a PSP (regular) and I can tell you it’s a great little sidekick to bring along on Vacation or on a long road trip to my aunt’s house. The PSP is easy to use, Once you pick it up and learn how to use it you wont be able to put it down, Literally. The PSP can also act as a mp3 player and a movie player as well.

The Nintendo DS is great to take with as well, except the only downside is that you have to use a stylus to use in your games, While the PSP has tactile buttons X,O,Square and Triangle and a Analog Stick and two shoulder buttons R and L. The design of the PSP is based off the PS2. Back to the DS The DS will have your Mario and Luigi games, While the PSP will have your Tony Hawk games and Final fantasy games. So All I can say is for the gamers, Buy them what ever games they like and the buy them the system as well. It’s a ll of matter of personal Preference and choice. Be sure to always keep your receipt as well in case they don’t want it.
