Goolge Calendar Vs. iCal Vs. Windows Calendar

[tags]Google,Cal,Windows,Cal,iCal,Apple,Microsoft,Google[/tags]

I have never been a big fan of any online calendars. But when I signed up for a gmail account it came built in to so I have started using gCal more often now since it is built in. I do have to say it is very nice and the interface is amazing, easy to use, easy to change a date, time or anything. I haven’t had a chance to use iCal that much but it does look really nice. Windows Calendar is just awful as well.

Since I am on the move and always driving form school and back home, I want a calendar that sends me a reminder to my phone Via a text message. To me that is very nice and something that makes me really like Google Calendar.

Windows calendar did not seem very easy to use at all. I couldn’t get it to do anything I wanted it to. It would not sync with Outlook when I was using it. Windows Calendar did not make it easy to send a SMS message to your phone at all. I tried everything and it wouldn’t work. I only have Windows Calendar installed on my Vista laptop. The other thing about Windows calendar is that you must keep it open in order for it to send you a reminder. Unlike Google calendar I can put in and then have it sent to my phone.

I haven’t had a lot of experience with iCal for the mac but I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. The user interface looks amazing on it. I can’t wait to test it out when I get a Mac this Christmas or so I am hoping.
