Vista, I Hate You!

So I used to use Microsoft Windows Vista for about half the year. Vista was so slow and it took forever to do anything I wanted it to do. I did like some of the features Vista had but I also hated most of them. Flip 3d is the most obnoxious thing ever invented. User Account Control (UAC) is the most annoying and most obnoxious.
- I got numerous Blue Screens of Deaths in Vista, Sometimes I would walk away from my computer and come back and the Blue Screen came up.
- UAC= 3 words UAC is annoying
- When I leave my computer on and it’s idling, it uses half of my memory.
- Vista sucks up my Graphics card memory and processing power.
- Windows Defender= Doesn’t do it’s job and catches air.
- Windows firewall is so weak.
- No new GUI
- Too many versions
- Windows Calendar does not sync with my computer
- No backup utility
- More hardware = equals more crashes and more problems.
There is my Vista Rant for the night.

Vista appears to be continuing the trend towards increased overhead begun with WinXP. The minimum recommended CPU speed for Vista is 800 Mhz. as against 233 Mhz. for WinXP. Even at 400 Mhz. I have found WinXP to have excessive overhead and have replaced it with Win2000 Pro.
With WinXP there was so much background disk activity I couldn’t comfortably flip pages in a PDF document. I did several malware scans and eventually inspected the task manager to try to discover what process was causing 100% CPU usage in the background.
I traced the most active process to the Windows Indexing Service, which I immediately disabled, but there still was too much background activity and disk usage. Win2000 is very peaceful, with 1% background usage and plenty of resources available to do what I want rather than what Windows wants.
