Bad Customer Service

Every time I hear people say “I’m going to call or ask for Customer service” I tend to cringe a little bit. Customer service these day has become very bad. For example today I went to Barnes and Noble to get a novel for my English class and I don’t know if it’s me or what but the associate didn’t seem to know what I wanted even though I spoke clearly and loud enough for him to hear me.

After about the third time of telling him what I wanted he finally was able to locate what I wanted and was able to help me after that. Maybe it was just me but it seems to me that customer service these days isn’t what it used to be anymore. You have to be able to know what your doing nowadays to help a customer.

I work at a Clothing department store and I try to help the customer(s) as much as I can or to the best of my ability. If I don’t help the customer they get all mad at me, they act like it’s my fault and then they tell the Manger On Duty and I get yelled at. Then I say well “you see if I knew where it was in the stock room, or If I could look it up in the system then I could be able to help them,” Is that my fault I can’t help them? Or are they just mad because they really want that shirt or those pants, or even that computer part or software.
