Okay so today the totally unthinkable happened. but not just once twice. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then please read on. You have all of Microsoft Windows Vista….. or at least some of you have heard of it. Well a lot of people have been bashing it and I can finally say that I need to as well, why you ask. Because today I was tweaking Vista to run as fast as it could on my laptop using a certain tool called msconfig, Now a little warning for you newbie computer users, THIS IS A TWEAKING TOOL AND IF NOT USED CAREFULLY YOU COULD HARM YOUR SYSTEM. you get to it by click on start then find “run” then then run pops up type in msconfig just like that. Once msconfig pops up either in Vista or XP click on Boot (in Vista) or Boot .ini (in XP) and then click advanced and go to NUM/PROC and if you a dual core or a core 2 duo system you should have more then one and tell it you want to run 1,2,3 or 4. but do not touch how much memory or you will get what i got in Vista. not sure in XP, but don’t want to try it at all. So moving on, I went into msconfig and told my laptop I wanted to run both of my processors and to all of my memory, Well that was a dumb decesion on my part. Becuase do you know what happened, I got something called the Blue Screen Of Death. a BSOD ( Blue Screen of Death, means your computers has died and it usually restarts it selfs.) but in my situation that did not happen at all. What happened to me was it just kept cycling though and giving me a Dumping memory cycle….1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and so on until it kept doing this. I was lucky to actually have a Windows Vista disc for when I upgraded to it on my primary desktop….that might not happen anymore. I’m sticking with Windows XP until Microsoft gets there act in gear and releases Service Pack 1 out, but until then I’ll still stick with XP and possibly even after that. I’m not sure If Vista will ever be popular at all, and there still are a lot of problems that need to be fixed in both 32 bit and 64 bit Vista. Oh this happened to me in 32 bit. Anyways good news is that I was able to re-install Vista without a problem, I just deleted the old Vista and but the new one over it, but I still need to re-install Office 07 and all of my manufacturers software, and my Anti-Virus and Anti-spyware and… EVERYTHING!!! this is a huge mess that really gives a headache. Then my Teacher in my Game design was surfin the web and she also got the BSoD in XP. Microsoft you are a joke now I know why people are buying Mac’s and getting Linux.
