Teacher Student Relationship Part II

In my computer hardware class the teacher does a good job of teaching the course. When students do poorly on a test it makes her look bad. It also means that we either didn’t study or we just don’t care at all. It’s the same deal with homework assignments too. We had to take a really important test the other day. I never do well on tests so I wasn’t expecting to pass at all. Homework is a completely different story. I went into class and took the test and felt confident that I would pass it. It was pretty hard but I felt I knew the material well enough that I would pass.

After the test I went home and waited patiently to see how I did. I logged onto my profile page on the school’s website to see if it was posted on the internet. It wasn’t. But then the very next day I got a message from the teacher saying I’d better do the bonuses and all the assignments from this point on or else I would fail the course. That gave me a huge scare. Was I doing that poorly that the teacher needed to send me a private message?

I got to class today and someone said that they also got the message. Made me realize that the whole class is doing that poorly and that no one is passing. I guess our class needs to spend more time on the homework and study better for the tests. The teacher got mad at us because she has a very busy life. She’s a teacher and a student, so when we fail tests it makes her mad because she doesn’t want to teach failures. Guess we can all try harder in the class. She wants us to do well in her class and we’re below her expectations right now.
