Fix - Safari 3.1 Won’t Load Hotmail

Ok, SO I’ve decided to periodically post fixes to stuff, if I find out how do something that’s been bothering me i’ll try and post it here to save you all some time

This one relates to Windows Live Hotmail, I’m sure like many Mac users in a Windows world, you have MSN messenger installed on your mac. I have all my major accounts (YouTube, Lockergnome, etc) feeding into this email, so I know when I get an email about something as soon as I get it.However, recently when I’ve clicked to go to my mail safari never loads it up properly. I used Firefox and thought no more of it, but It’s really bothering me now. Luckily there’s a fix and it isn’t that difficult.

To fix, go into ‘Prederences’ (or cmd-,) and click on the security tab. You will then see about half way down the pane that there’s a cookies section, click on the ‘Show Cookies’ button.  This will bring out a drop down box. in the search type “.live.com” this will show all cookies related to Windows Live. Delete all cookies shown by clicking ‘Remove All’, then just simply confirm this. This should have Hotmail working again.
