On my trip away from home I drove down to a city called Halifax which has a big
population of people and company’s so I decide to do a security analysis on the city’s wireless networks. Well I had found over 600 insecure networks and 400 secure networks.
Then as we drove on in the city I came across a company which was unencrypted so I performed some security tests on their network in a short period of time. Which I had came up with over 200 active computers running on this network. That could be all affected by ARP poisoning , Sniffing No active firewall, default passwords, Poor network Administrators, vulnerable version of VNC servers.
As a security professional I believe wireless networks should be just as secure as wired networks and servers and the next time I come back to this city I will be looking forward to see how they taken the time to improve their security flaws.
