Declutter with Ergotron

I can’t help but wonder if I’ve gone too far over the geek line. Late last night I purchased the Ergotron LX triple monitor stand. The MSRP on this beast is $299 but I managed to find a pretty sweet deal on Amazon for $206.99 with free shipping.
Most people take a look at my home office and think I’m just nuts. You see I have three LCD screens connected to my main machine along with a media center pc that has its own screen. The problem is until someone has used a multiple monitor set up they really can’t understand why this purchase is necessary. For most geeks having multiple monitors is a must. I just don’t think I could be anywhere close to happy with only one screen, its just too limiting. The only down side to this setup so far is the clutter. My workstation is a rather large L-Shaped desk and my monitors take up a huge portion of it.
My Plans so far are to mount my 20in lcds to the triple monitor stand, freeing up the desk space where each of their stands sit currently. The next step would be to get a swing arm mount for the media center screen so I could move it out when not in use and back in when its time to unwind and watch some tv. The final step in my plan is to some how find a way to hide the towers of my main system and media center pc. This will probably the hardest part. The server I can just hide in the closet but I have yet to find a solution that can sufficiently hide my main machines while still keeping them readily accessible. If anyone reading this has any ideas please let me know.
I will definitely be posting a full review of the monitor stand when it arrives and hopefully I’ll remember to take before and after shots of my desk setup.
