[tags]security, wifi, paint, emsec[/tags]

Whilst wandering the info highway I came across this tidbit about Em-Sec who have a new paint, ok they call it a “revolutionary coating system” (paint to you and me) that you can use to reduce the strength of your WiFi signal.

Theer are several obvious usages here with the first being to restrict hackers / eavesdroppers / war driving and the second would be to tie down the limits your signal will travel thus negating the first problem. The system is not foolproof as you would need to employ alternative products to mask your windows, etc but as a starting point and if you are ultra-paranoid then why not.

I also loved their tag line “Creating the Electromagnetic Fortress through liquid security innovations!”

If I ran a restaraunt I’d get the inside walls covered in this (you can paint any other colour over the top afterwards) so that my customers wouldn’t be bothered by having to work through the meals and annoying those around them - but that’s another story altogether!
