I spotted that the long popular BlackICE firewall is closing its doors next week but it will be supported through to the end of September 2008. However, if you are a fan (I’ve lost faith in it over the last few years), then fear not as its new(ish) owner Sunbelt Software is offering registered users a free one-year license to its own Sunbelt Personal Firewall.
What a shame then that neither of these firewalls did particularly well in the latest leak tests over at Matousec. In fact one is placed just above the other and both were given a rating of poor.
All that aside, if you wish to take advantage of this upgrade then head over to the misnamed SaveBlackICE Web site and fill out those details.
