It’s A Small World

There’s an old saying - at least in my part of the world and family that goes something like “It’s a small world and it’s getting smaller all the time.”
Well I’m on my holidays and have taken an hour away from my family to catch up with some eMails (could I live without this? Hmm another post, another time I guess), do some housekeeping and even pay some bills. Apart from a rest and time away from work there are two specific things I have to do whilst here… one is help my Dad celebrate his 70th and the other is to catch up with a friend I haven’t seen in 26 years.
Well the last one I did last night and we had a few beers and a good natter. Along the way another old friend who didn’t know we were going to be where we were appeared and joined us and we all had a huge laugh at the times we spent as wayward teens and to catch up on how serious we all are now! The old friend in now a big tax accountant with 90 staff, the other friend had just jetted in from America and works as a consultant - funnily enough for one of my competitors - and me, I keep on doing my geeky stuff with networks! Imagine that, 3 disparate characters all turning up on the same tiny island in the same water polo club bar on the same night after 26 years. The lady in question had just spent a week with “the girls” catching up and reminiscing on all things teenagery and the two main topics of conversation were myself and the friend I’d gone to meet.
It was a hoot and I intend to make sure we don’t all leave it another 26yrs. In fact I’m meeting the lad (hah!) again Saturday with my family and his for a bbq!
6 billion or so in the world and 3 souls in the same place who all share a common link - what are the odds on that? OK, so two of us had semi-planned the get together but the night wasn’t cast in stone.

Maybe you should have spent 5 minutes of the time you took to yourself to spell-check your post.
