Comodo Enters Beta Stage

I spoke with Judy Shapiro over at Comodo a little while ago, and it looks like their firewall has left Alpha stage as of today, and is now entering Beta.
Comodo has a series of free products including Comodo Firewall, Comodo Anti-Malware, Website Authentication, Comodo Antivirus, and Email Security Certificate.
I have myself only used their Anti-Malware program, and the Comodo Firewall. As I stated in an earlier article, I was not impressed by the firewall, which is highly rated, but had a ton of pop ups. Judy assured me that this will no longer be much of a problem. They now have over 600,000 applications listed in the firewall’s database, that will no longer be questioned as security risks, by this program. A few may not be on the list, so an unwanted pop up now and then may occur.
Judy wanted to be sure end users understand, this program is still in beta. However, from my research, this is one of the best currently available. In an article on Comodo recently by Ron Schenone , he related some issues he personally was having with it. I suspect these issues will be ironed out soon, if they are not already.
I am going to install several of the Comodo products myself today, and finally let go of my free version of Kerio personal firewall, which is not full featured. If any of you decide to give Comodo a try, let me know what you think!

Kerio isn’t in the personal firewall business, last I checked. Did they sell their Winroute firewall to the Chinese govt? If so, how is that worse than if someone like Cisco did it?

Thank you very much Eskimo for bringing this up. It has been awhile since I read this, and I should have verified my information before posting that statement (which will be removed when I am done writing this}. The information I originally received must have been related to the fact that Kerio does have alliances with Sun Microsystems, who along with Cisco, manufactures the components and software for the Great Firewall of China.
My apologies for this discrepancy. Though the two are linked together, it is not so much so, that I should have put the burden of guilt on Kerio. Thank you very much again for setting me straight on this.
