Advertising Your Site, and a Cool Firefox Extension

  • No Related Post

I have, as some of you know, been out advertising this week. I haven’t done too badly. When I started several days ago, my Google listings were at about 45,000. Last time I checked today, it was at 278,000. This from only clicking on buttons, and filling out endless forms asking for the same information.

I made a notepad file up with all the basic information I would need, and went about clicking and pasting. I started at Google, and typed in such things as blogging hubs, blogging directories, etc. I found some decent lists to start with, but then really hit the jackpot with this one, for RSS feeds. I began clicking down through the many URL’s, and got to about 46, when I decided to do something else. One thing I am not, is a robot. I went over to Mozilla, and was searching for some Firefox extension that I needed, and accidentally stumbled upon Link Evaluator.

Wow, now this was cool! I installed the add-on, and tried it out on the above link. Link Evaluator took about 90 seconds to go through all of the links, and let me know by color coding each URL, what was viable. The actual amount of links I needed to click on was 156, but there were way over 200 links total, on the entire page. Approximately 36 out of my target of 156, were no longer working.

That saved me some time!
