I was awakened this morning by my daughter at 9:30, telling me to hurry up and get out of bed. There was an estate being given away for free, in less than 30 minutes. I rose up, dressed, and we were out the door within 15 minutes. By 10 till 10:00, we had arrived. There were probably only 10 people total there by this point, and we all gathered inside. The original owner had died, and her family was letting it all go. We were told to take whatever we wanted, in any area of the garage/house. What fun! I love going through other people’s stuff!

For environmental reasons, I try really hard not to buy anything new if I can avoid it. Here I found washcloths, towels, paper, office supplies, and candles. All of these items I try to gather from only used sources, and here they were for free!

The carpenter and mechanic in the family, found an assortment of tools for both trades. My daughter and her fiance, found a good amount of household items for their future home. Many items were still in their original packaging, and had never even been opened! This kind of adventure, is always so satisfying!

Free sales are quite common, and are usually the result of what is left over from yard and estate sales. Here in Seattle, one of the local churches collects up stuff all year long, and then has a huge free sale. Free sales are more common than you think, so keep an eye out!
