ShadowMyth’s Social Networking Adventure

  • No Related Post

The last couple of days I have been working on increasing my social network, so that I can increase my readership. I have been on Tribe.net now for quite some time, and I have to say, their setup rules. Unfortunately almost no one else on the place actually uses their ultra cool features. It seems after much looking around over there, that it is focused more on it’s groups, rather than the social networking aspect. Bottom line, if I want to get attention over there, I am going to have to actively participate in some of their groups. I wish I had the time! This is my page over there, you can see it rocks. It actually makes it so my Lockergnome blog is right there on my site!

I used to have an account over at Freindster.com , but deleted it for some reason or another. I decided to get a new one over there, and was glad to see there had been some improvements! I now could have a cool background, and an easy link to my page. It appears now that there are also groups going on at Friendster, which I do not remember being there before. I searched through some of the profiles, and it was obvious, these people were here to really connect. The majority of the pages look like some real effort has been put into them. I am sure to get more traffic over here. The beginnings of my Freindster account can be found here.

So, I went over to upload a photo over at ImageShack, and discovered they now are also a social networking site. I guess everyone is getting on the boat these days. I put in my information and created a page. I haven’t very many of the images available to the public yet, but here is my page over there. Tags can be put on my photos, so this can be of benefit to me also.

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine Randy, over at Meetup.com. He runs the group Seattle Self Aware, of which I am a member. I updated my account over there, put up a new picture, and posted my URL. Randy encouraged me to post my blog over on the group’s message board. Due to the focus of this group, I only posted a URL to my philosophy section. Here is my profile at Meetup.com.

My last stop was at Twitter.com. I signed up, and was rather wondering what else there was for me to do, but there wasn’t anything else. My page consists of my name, and my avatar, with a history of whatever two liner messages I input. Right now, there is only one. I am not sure how people really get to know one another over there, but my page is here.

Tomorrow I will go out and start advertising, and will let you all know how that goes.
