Freedom in America

When I was a child of about 8 years old, I was told that someday I could run for President of the United States. In fact, I was told *anyone* could, and that was partly what made our country so great. I was so impressed at the time, I entered a contest in Highlight magazine that was looking for patriotic poems by America’s youth. Though I didn’t win, I received an honorable mention, and I felt very proud indeed. I was not told at this young age that there were actual rules about *who* could run for president. Not just anyone was allowed, as I had been led to believe. You couldn’t have any kind of criminal record, mental health record, drug use history, and you had to be at least 35 years of age. Ignorant of these facts, I continued in my fantasies, envisioning the day *I* would be America’s president. I will never forget my father saying to me,”Well, I am certainly not voting for you.” I had pretty radical ideas even as a child, and on occasion was known for creating and circulating petitions in my local neighborhood. Well, now I am 40, and supposedly eligible to run for president. Alas though, I have a mental health record, a criminal record, a history of drug use, and I don’t have the money necessary to launch a full blown media campaign. Oh well, the fact is I *don’t want* to be president anymore. A country with such requirements for presidential candidates is looking for people with little or no real life experience in the world of the average American. Most people who end up running for this position have lived in the middle or upper classes of America, and have never known hardship and the stresses the lower classes endure on a daily basis. The hard facts are, the lower classes are the majority, and in no way are governmental interests looking out for us. We are merely their stepping stones to material excess and political power, and allowing our *kind* to run for president is *not* in the best interests of excess profit and the war machine behind it. Letting those under 35 into this elite position could certainly lead to an increase in radical ideas, and possibly real change. The dinosaurs of this megalithic system, have no compunction toward allowing the slaves a respite from the drudgeries of their station in life.

Tomorrow is the 4th of July, the day we supposedly celebrate freedom in America. Several years ago, I decided to start celebrating the 4th of July, but in my own way. Every July 4th now, I vow to do what I can to *free* America, I honor my fellow slaves, and I watch the local fireworks. Though the task of freeing America seems quite considerable, we the people, are the majority.

This 4th of July…celebrate REVOLUTION!!!

First of all, I remember Highlight magazine! Haven’t thought about that in years. I really thought about writing something about the fourth of July because it’s gotten to the point in our country that I don’t even call it Independence Day anymore.

“I honor my fellow slaves.” Best 4th of July quote ever.

Highlight is still around if you can imagine! Yeah, my fourth was rather un-free. I went with a group of people to check out the fireworks. If you can imagine, if you wanted to sit in the park and watch, you had to be searched before entering. Some of my party had beer and such on them, so I volunteered to sit outside the park while everyone else went in. I had a good seat though, and guarding the beer cooler wasn’t too bad of a task. Mind you though, I don’t drink alcohol. Some guy started screaming through the area I was in that we were celebrating a country that was slaughtering people in an unneeded war, and I piped in and agreed. I regretted it afterwards though, as the guy turned out to be a full blown nut case, and I kept my mouth shut after that. It really did irk me though that we were searched for an event that celebrated freedom.

Please watch this.

It can give a person hope.

I checked out the above video. I have to say that this guy has some good ideas; however if I voted, I would not vote for him. He over emphasizes *peace* which is a really an easy platform to fall victim to. Not that peace is a bad thing, but to the degree he was talking about, it bordered on pacifism. Pacifism is only another kind of oppression, but self governed. We are so horrified by an over inundation of violence in so many areas of life, that we can come to believe that the opposite point of view must be the right one. In many tribal groups, and more close knit communities, violence is naturally integrated into the society as a way to maintain order. For example, some guy is beating his wife, and all the village women go over to his house and beat the crap out of him. Every time he beats his wife, he gets the crap beat put of him. He loses his desire to beat his wife, the man is punished for his actions, and the women got some frustrations out. Violence does serve a purpose, and it allows us to exact justice in a way that is direct and to the point. When we try to exact justice through a legal system, we the victims or various involved parties, are not a part of the process. We become dependent upon the decisions of others of whom we do not even know, or were not even part of the original situation. In the overall, this leads to a lack of personal power, and a feeling of dependency upon others to protect us. This creates a weak people, and a weak people are easy to control.

I personally wish to help in returning freedom to the people of america, but, such a road is difficult to walk, and the finding the beginning of the road harder still.

Mouse,
Thank you for writing! I went over and checked out the links you gave me. I am very aware of the majority of things going on right now with our government, and their sick and twisted actions. It is good to see someone putting out information like this in a method that is very cohesive. I think with people such as these putting out information on such a level, everyone can be reached somehow. Because of my own strong personal beleifs, I tend to alienate a certain area of the population with my writings. They use me as an excuse to fuel their faith, and honor their god in defending him. People like this though, can communicate on a level that conservatives can relate to. Wonderful, absolutely wonderful.
As far as finding the road, it is simple. Just put your feet down on the road, and start walking forward. Everyone has their own inner calling, if they listen. You just ask life, or your greater self, what would be a good path for you to take? The answers will come. Some people focus on tearing down the illusion, by showing the truth of it and it’s flaws. Others work on new technologies and sciences. Some choose to help people through the coming changing times. Everyone can serve a purpose, they just need to follow their hearts. We can all do it together, in whatever way feels right for us.
