Getting into Gnomedex…is it possible?

By now everyone knows that Gnomedex is sold out, unless you want to pay a pretty penny to sit in the *Cove* room, and not be able to mingle in the heart of the action. Even with these tickets still available, there is no way they will be by the time I get the money together. Alas, the doors are closed for those of us who just recently learned about the biggest computer and blogging event of the year. So, last night I pined, and dreamed all night long dreams of attending Gnomedex. How could I get in? From what I have read, there is no bribing Chris, and I don’t think bribing the doorman is going to work either. Perhaps I could dress up as part of the wait staff, and change clothes once I got inside. Maybe I could pretend to be a delivery person, and deliver a special gift to Chris that must be delivered in person…a sing-a-gram perhaps? I could find out who will be delivering the food, and hide away in a delivery truck, or maybe sneak in through the air conditioning vents? Ah, but there is a hitch to my possible plans. No matter what, I cannot reveal the truth of who I am…I must remain anonymous! ShadowMyth would of course not be listed amongst the many guests everyone is expecting, and I would be found out. Oh well, I guess I will just have to wait until next year.
What are your creative ideas to get into Gnomedex?

I can’t go either and I don’t have any ideas. No need for me to be anonymous or anything, just that I’m Just stating to recover from my most recent episode. So even if there were tickets, I wouldn’t be well in time to also buy tickets. And I really, really, really, really want to go.
i have a friend who gets a lot of the fun of going to conferences without actually going by getting a room at the hotel that is the official host, or next door, and mingling with people as they are going in or out.

I know about back problems, my heart goes out to you. I have managed to deal with the pain, and heal my back with qi gong. I still a ways to go, but I am able to walk and function properly now.
Thanks for the tip on getting into these kind of events. I really wanted to go to get my name out there, and start making connections…hence the reason I didn’t want to go anonymously. I am just starting this blogging thing, and looking forward to it making me an income!

Uh… there are plenty of tickets still available? I’m not quite sure why you thought we were sold out?

Hi Ponzi,
I know there are tickets left, but not tickets into the main room, which is where I want to be. I will be patient, and wait until next year. Also, next year I will have the time to save up the money. Right now I have to prioritize. I look forward to meeting you and Chris though. I have received Lockergnome’s newsletter now for over a year, and have always waited for it impatiently. I have learned so much here! Say hi to Chris for me!

What’s qi gong? I’ll have Googled it by the time you answer but I’d love to have an article if you care to write one. :)

I will do. Qi gong equates out to meaning energy work. It involves various physical, spiritual and mental exercises, that aid toward bringing the person into a state of wholeness and balance. There are many kinds of qi gong, such as yoga, various martial arts, massage therapies, etc. I myself practice a wide variety of qi gong, and have created my own system using dance as part of it’s foundation. It is very difficult to describe a lot of it, so I am going to do videos on various aspects when I get my web cam.
