Tired of paying .50-$1.00 for 411? Be sure to put one of these two numbers in your speed dial!
1-800-411-SAVE is the first of its kind, but you may not have the patience to wait though a 10-15 second ad. Check out 1800411save.com for more information.
1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411) is the best choice, in my opinion. Though it is supposedly only in its experimental phase at Google Labs, it works well, and has no advertisements! labs.google.com/goog411
So don’t hesitate next time… just call 411!

I’ve used both of these numbers in the past. I totally agree about Google Free Service being the best. Very intuitive voice menu tree.

You Americans are completely insane. You should call 411 when you have a serious problem. To quibble about the cost is insanity. Surely you are willing to pay the cost of a cup of coffee to be saved from some disaster.

Sigh
I just remembered 411 is not 911. I haven’t a clue what you get when you call 411. At 71 years of age I can only say I’m sorry and call it a Senior Moment.
Cheers from darkest Africa

LOL Durbandon! You really got me laughing on that one! 411 is a service that will give you the phone numbers of businesses and individuals, and connect you to the number. Quite handy, but I am sure you have something similar. Just to let you know though…it is true, most Americans are insane…lol!

For me the best choice for this would be the 1-800-411-SAVE, it’s because you’ll get to talk to a live operator you won’t get mad in talking to a machine who 100% dont understand a single word that you say. Talking to a live person gives you a greater chance to get the phone number that you need acccurately. And the beast thing of it all is… it’s totally free. ^_^

Huh, I just called it again, and the service is much better than it used to be. I get tired of arguing with that damn machine if it doesn’t understand what I am saying, it was cool to get right over to a live person. However, what I do not like as usual, is the corporate ads I have to listen to…that was my main reason for liking Google.
I have another one in my phone1-800-373-3411or 1-800-free411, but it really sucks, as it will not kick you over to the number, but only gives you the number…and you have to listen to a corporate ad. It used to get you to a live person if needed, but that feature seems to have disappeared.
