Sink My Ship: Battleship 2.0

And so Java and Ajax do work together rather than against each other! Don’t believe me? The proof is at the helm so to speak…

Our friend Artem wrote in to tell us about the new project he and his team of cohorts have developed. It’s called Sink My Ship, and it’s an online multiplayer version of the classic Battleship game built with Ajax and Java.

Join the game by logging in and waiting for an enemy to accept your challenge. Then, man the torpedoes!

Sink My Ship was developed by the same group that brought the Ajax-powered Sudoku Solver into the world. They also maintain a blog for Sink My Ship’s development.

I’m assuming the same Java backend powers both apps. This application has some pretty cool graphics and the gameplay is tight. I only wish I had checked it out earlier in the day since it’s the perfect Friday distraction. Source: Monkey Bites
