Adwords Account Structure for Large Accounts

Well I guess it is safe to say that managing a large Adwords account is nowhere as difficult as we might have once thought.
In this post I will discuss some strategies for the adwords account structure for large online advertisers. The standard account structure is Campaign Name, Adgroup Name, Keywords, and Ad Creative. A standard account structure allows for 25 campaigns, and 100 adgroups per campaign. But, that’s just way too small for a large online advertiser.
For large online advertisers, the Adwords platform can only handle up to 10,000 adgroups per campaign, and up to 100 campaigns. So, what’s the strategy for your account structure if you need more than 1,000,000 adgroups?
First, let’s discuss a well structured account.
Before creating your campaigns, think about your product groups/services, and keywords. Your keyword list is the foundation upon which you’ll name your adgroups. For example, if you sell printers the account structure could look like this:
CAMPAIGN
Samsung Printers
ADGROUP
Color Laser Printers
KEYWORDS
samsung clp
samsung clp 500 series
