Under general circumstances, I would be inclined to disagree that I would have any reason to know personal information about my Website’s visitors. After reading this article below however, I am at least willing to hear out the opposing side of things.
HTTP is a stateless internet protocol used in requesting for pages on your site. HTTP is not designed to identify your visitors or keep a detailed record of their actions on your website.
The anonymity of this internet protocol works to the advantage of privacy advocates. However, as the owner of a website, you have to compensate for the lack of information about your visitors by using your web server and website to identify and track your web visitors.
