Regardless of the time of year, saving money on your purchases is always a big deal. And that is exactly what specific shopping sites have in mind for their customers.
“Two years ago, people used them for electronics and computer gear. These days, shoppers are using them for every kind of product you can imagine,” said Bill Tancer, general manager of global research for Hitwise, an Internet-traffic monitoring company.
Tancer added that people are using sites like Nextag.com, Pricegrabber.com and Shopzilla.com to get the best prices for everything from cashmere sweaters to toasters. Traffic to major comparison sites last week was 24% higher than a year ago, an indicator that online shopping has become a mainstream activity. [Read the rest]
