As a strong ally to many charities, I have a real problem with this article calling charitable shopping ‘ethical’. Charitable shopping is just that, charitable. It has no reflection on one’s ethics. I believe that we have talked about this once before, but I believe that it deserves another mention. Basically, Amazon Mechanical Turk is described as a “artificial artificial intelligence”. In other words, it has the ability to ask humans to accomplish specific tasks instead of the other way around.
The idea of machines catching up to humans is something that I believe most of the world would find alarming. Speaking for myself, I am willing to be bet that AI reaches a plateau before it becomes too dangerous.
I’d consider much of this words to live by. Being able to track what works and then make improvements on what does not will certainly help with any sort of marketing, even the search engine variety.
Not too sure how advertisers on Google are going to take the recent changes made to the way they serve ads. Personally, I don’t think that adapting methods to follow Yahoo is really something that folks will consider to be an improvement.
