Why Wiki, Blog and RSS Feed Content Needs to be Managed

RSS and other alternative methods of content distribution are certainly opening up doors for companies looking to expand their brand into grassroots media. But should there be better checks and balances in extending our hand out to the world’s corporations?
The proliferation and quick adoption (at the enterprise grassroots level) of wikis, blogs, RSS feeds and other new media types follows the same path as did the early, renegade enterprise adoption of instant messaging. The difference is that the timeframe for wikis, blogs and RSS feeds to move from grassroots to sanctioned adoption is a few months versus the years for instant messaging.
