It’s been quite some time since we last discussed branded RSS Readers.

Surprisingly, there wasn’t much activity in this area for the past few months, as the idea doesn’t seem to be catching on quickly among publishers and marketers. Personally, I cannot imagine why, as branded RSS Readers are one of the best opportunities for marketers to establish a stronger relationship with their prospects and get them started with real brand interaction.

Anyway, the RSS marketing vendor RSSlvp just surprised me with their own branded RSS Reader, which they also prepared a branded copy of for MarketingStudies.net.

As an RSS Reader their tool offers standard functionality that will satisfy most RSS users with intermedia RSS usage needs. While the Reader does not stand out with anything in particular, it’s excellent at achieving the end-goal of the companies that want to distribute it to their audiences — great ease and simplicity of use.

From the marketer point of view, the branded Reader offers four distinct features:

a) Each facet of the Reader is branded with your logo, even the “new content” notification window.

b) Your banner is placed directly below the Toolbar of the Reader.

c) On launching the Reader, the user will be exposed to an introduction by your company, which can also include links to your products and similar.

d) The Reader can be pre-loaded with your feeds, which you can then also dynamically update for all of your users.
