Sally Falkow has been very busy since the first interview I did with her a few months ago. She and her team just recently launched PressFeed, a hosted RSS publishing solution targeted especially at PR professionals wanting to use RSS for their publicity and online visibility activities.
In this interview Sally discusses their solution and how it compares to other RSS publishing and marketing tools on the market.
The interesting feature of PressFeed is that you can use it as a press release content management system, which you use to create your own news-based RSS feed and at the same time generate that same content on your website to boost search engine relevance, powered by PressFeed.
They do this by installing a script on your server, which connects to their hosted solution, and generates webpages based on the templates they prepared for you, based on your existing site design, making the whole process as easy as possible.
In the second (longer) part of the interview Sally and I discuss the use of RSS for search engine positioning, keyword selection tactics, internet content strategies and concrete RSS and blog marketing strategies.
Sally shares some excellent real-life case studies and really goes in-depth in to the various aspects of their strategies. These include how some companies are integrating RSS and blogs in to their existing marketing strategies, putting them at the forefront of their internet marketing.
According to Sally, RSS right now is where the Web was 10 years ago, without concrete marketing strategies behind its use, instead being powered by the RSS & blog hype.
Many other interesting points in the interview itself …
