AdSense RSS Live: Google Doesn’t Understand the RSS Market?

Google just opened AdSense for RSS publishers, allowing them to apply to the program.

But, according to their site, you need more than 100 active RSS subscribers to apply. When applying, you do need to enter the monthly figure you’re achieving.

Now here’s the problem: how many RSS publishers out there are really measuring their readership?

And even for those that are, what are the acceptable metrics standards to use? Feedburner stats? Unique RSS URL? Log analysis?

While I’m all for Google AdSense in RSS, Google just might be demonstrating that they don’t really get the RSS market. Or do they just want to limit themselves to the publishers that are taking the time to measure everything?
