Now here is an RSS editor with a little kick to it. Even though the FeedSpring software may still not be ready to come out of beta yet, the premise does look to be quite promising. While feed aggregators are plentiful and available just about anyplace these days, finding a good piece of feed creation software remains to be a tough challenge. Perhaps FeedSpring will work to rectify this a little.
If you have a website, then you should not just be learning HTML, PHP (or ASP) and Javascript. Nope, XML is where it is at, and one very good reason is RSS, which (just to confuse) is XML. In issue 4 of Home Computer Magazine we had an introductory tutorial on using RSS, which will continue in issue 5 with a tutorial on coding RSS. However, here’s a program that can do it for you.
It’s surprising, given the wealth of programs that edit HTML in a WYSIWYG manner, that there aren’t more RSS creation programs available. Partly this is because RSS has risen to the front through the popularity of blogging or CMS (Content Management Software, which we explain how to install and use on your website in the current web building series running in Home Computer Magazine). These database driven sites can create the RSS feeds automatically, so you never need to learn how they work.
