Tracking RSS Feed Subscribers

Not long ago, one of the key arguments against using RSS for marketing purposes was the supposed inability to reliably track RSS feed subscribers.

But, as many “next-generation” RSS solutions such as SimpleFeed, SyndicateIQ and RSS Autopublisher have already proved, that is no longer the case.

All three track subscribers using a unique RSS feed URL, served to an individual website visitor, which helps determine how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and then reading it and reacting to it. As this is relatively easy to implement, internal IT departments developing in-house RSS publishing solutions shouldn’t have problems adding this functionality to the mix as well.

One excuse less for marketers wondering whether now is the time to make the move to RSS.
