While the war against those who wish to download movies and other copyrighted material roars on, there are those of us that still opt to catch up with our favorite TV programing via the Internet.

One of the more popular methods of doing this is with Bittorrent. Still, taking the time to track down each torrent that appeals to you can be a little bit time consuming. A favored option to alleviate this problem is to use PyTiVo. Why try the hit and miss game when you can let this Python script do the work for ya?

PyTivo is a small python script that listens to rss streams containing bittorrent references. If they match your keywords, it downloads the torrent and launches it in a program of your choice.

You have to unpack the zip file and setup the settings.txt. Most sections are self explanatory. If you know any more sources of rss streams with torrents, let me know.

The rules section is simply a list of names:rule lines, where rule can be a regular expression or just a fragment you want in the title/filename.
