Om Malik has an interesting rumor on his blog. According to Om, Six Apart is set to acquire Live Journal in a cash and stock deal.
If Six Apart (makers of Movable Type and the excellent TypePad service) does indeed purchase Live Journal, it will be interesting to see how the cash and stock will be distributed. We may never know the details, but Live Journal functions thanks to a large team of volunteers and open source developers. I’m sure the details are being worked out, but it would be interesting to see “who makes the cut.”
