RSS Coming to a Library Near You

The Shifted Librarian was happy to see that library catalog software company Sirsi has a new product with support for RSS.
I’m not sure if my local library uses Sirsi software, but it sure would be nice to have my on-hold list in RSS format so I can see when new books become available.

LiveJournal Down

For the better part of two days now, LiveJournal has been down. The data center that LiveJournal is hosted at suffered a major power failure, with backup power failing too.
Updates on the situation can be found here.
I wonder if any other major sites were affected by the power loss?

If you are looking to chart trends from within Feedster, then this might be a wise place to start. When I first tried it, I found it to be a bit slow, but I will admit the idea is certainly cool enough though.
