Many people have argued a very important fact with me over the course of this past year. Well, I have said it once and I will say it again. In order for RSS to truly reach the masses, we must break free from standalone aggregators. Well, the following program is pretty close to proving my point by allowing its users to have the content sent right to their desktops.
Newsplorer comes bundled with a number of news sources ready to use. However, there is a wealth of sources available today. The easiest way to spot them is to look for the orange XML label XML on the websites you browse. Once you find one, copy the hyperlink address from your browser (if you check the link with your browser, the content should be XML) and go to Newsplorer’s News Feed section (Configure->News Feeds) and add it under a category. You can create a new category at any time and place the hyperlink there. Categorizing your news is key to managing the news sources, so you’re encouraged to use this feature.
See the “Support” section for detailed help on how to use this and other Newsplorer features.
Today, more and more websites choose to publish their news using XML syndication. But not only news can be publishes this way, bloggers have their online journals published in RSS format as well so check them out!
We are currently preparing a library of news sources. You’ll be able to download them directly to Newsplorer with one mouse click!
