JanRain has just release version 1.0 of Jyte, a small and easy-to-use RSS newsreader and aggregator that works on PCs and Macs covered before in this RSS&Atom news column.

Jyte is very simple to use and it integrates an effective search facility, multi-tabbed integrated browsing, and the ability to keep, store or email to a friend any relevant stories.

Jyte fully leverages the forward-thinking process of “news fountains” or continuos searches. You set up a query and Jyte keeps working at it each time you run it, creating in essence an ongoing resource of information on the specific topic selected. Too bad such fountains can’t be output in RSS/Atom just as Feedster and PubSub (to name two out of many) allow you to do.
