RSS In Context

When I’m on a cell phone, I have very different RSS reading requirements than when I’m at my desk. Bandwidth issues coupled with a limited form factor are reason enough for publishers to consider creating variants of RSS that are heavy and light. RSS is consumed in many ways and in diverse contexts by many different tools and presentation systems. So, when you compose your feeds consider the possibilities - they are diverse - and the more agile your feeds are, the greater your reach. On a cell phone I want just enough information about a news item to make a determination if my situational viewing context warrants a download of the full content. Lockergnome’s dual feed availability provides a great example of this.
