Adam Curry has pointed out that a large Dutch ISP has made their trouble tickets available in RSS. RSS is great for notifications of this sort. When you business needs to send notifications to people, email is often used. In almost all cases, those notifications could be made through RSS as well.
You can use RSS to tell customers about software updates, inform your network users of system downtime, or keep stakeholders apprised of project status. Sure, you can do all that with email or a Web site too, but the end user can get it at all whenever and however they want. RSS is searchable, archivable, can be used offline, and can be created easily and automatically created using your existing tools.
